INTRODUCTION
In 1989, SINBON started its business to stimulate local employment opportunities and promote prosperity, the Company chose Taiwan Miaoli as its production base. Now, the Company is redeploying that original motivation, and working together with the Lovely Taiwan Foundation in promoting the Shennong Project - Friends of the Earth, by sponsoring the Miaoli Shinglung Elementary School’s farmland; the Company is leading the children to appreciate local culture through land conservation education while laying the solid foundations for achieving a vision of common good in this elementary school.
FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY
The programme deploys the concept of “one school, one farmland” to build up the fields into a lively living classroom, providing on-campus organic farming teaching and allowing the public an enjoyable farming experience on campus. In this way, through all the efforts of sowing and cultivating in the fields, the project helps people to know their homeland better and protect a sustainable environment. The positive spirit radiating forth from such positive action will naturally merge with the public’s recognition and sense of identity in this land.ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT
The project has 4 aspects, education, environmental conservation, corporate commitment and social cohesion. The Company provides on-campus organic farming teaching, allowing students to enjoy the farming experience on campus. Through all the efforts of sowing and cultivating in the fields, the project helps students to know their homeland better and protect a sustainable environment. Not only that, through this programme, it raises the environmental conservation awareness of the Company’s employees and the younger generation. Additionally, these CSR activities allows employees to understand the corporate culture to increase employee commitment and engagement while educating employees about local culture, to recognise and increase a sense of identity.FUTURE DIRECTION
SINBON continues to engage in the realisation of environmental responsibility and is committed to their transformation into a Green Enterprise, with “Go Green” as the commitment and action statement of the Company toward sustainable development. These include green partners, green products, green manufacturing, and green supply chain. In addition to clean energy and recycled materials, the Company also pursues in the efficient use of energy and resources. Through a series of green actions, the combination of product research and development (R&D), procurement and manufacturing, construction, and environment into an integrated, ecologically sustainable industry chain of supply and demand, thereby laying a solid foundation for sustainability at SINBON. While pursuing sustainable management, the Company hopes to provide its employees with a kind and pleasant working environment. The Company’s achievements were not reached in a fortnight. They are the fruits of diligence shown by all employees. The Company have become better during this process and this has laid a solid foundation for us to become a sustainable enterprise.
