INTRODUCTION
King Power Thai Power project was founded with the vision to empower Thai people to elevate their potential in a sustainable way to enhance their competitiveness globally. The project focuses on 3 key aspects; sport, music and community.Sport Power – Sport Power was introduced to empower and engage Thai youths through sports collaborated programmes, focusing on football with the ultimate goal of enabling Thai youth to have hands-on experience and professional opportunities. Some campaigns launched under this pillar was ‘Million Footballs, Million Power, for Thai Youth’ programme, created for children and youth to practice football at anytime and anyplace; ‘One Hundred Football Pitches for the Power of Thai Youth’, which involves the construction of 100 artificial football pitches for schools and communities nationwide by 2022.
Music Power – This initiative focuses on promoting music and culture especially Thai talents to the world through Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition (TIWSC) in collaboration with College of Music, Mahidol University. This is the 3rd consecutive year making it a world-class stage for Thai musicians and talents to demonstrate their skills and passion for music.
Community Power - King Power commits to support Thai community by promoting sustainable development for Thailand’s local economies. The Company works with the government sector and other institutions, and share knowledge to help local people develop their skills and create better products. And The Company continue donated money to the “Kao Kon La Kao” Project running all region of Thailand. We have also delivered universal-designed public rest rooms under the project name ‘Sukha Sukjai’ in 7 provinces in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism and Sports aiming to provide the community and tourist sites with better and cleaner facilities. For over 3 years, King Power have also supported natural dyed fabrics using eco-friendly dyes. So far, we have produced 4 collections with the latest being “From Leaves to Lively Thai Dye Collection” which is the joint effort of King Power Group through King Power Thai Power, Leicester City Football Club, and Kiriwong Village in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Our collections have showcased community products to the world and we are incredibly proud of helping these communities and highlighting local wisdom of Thai people in using natural dyes to create beautiful products.
FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY
King Power Thai Power project is inspired and driven by the company’s brand idea ‘Spirit Beyond Boundaries’, believing in the potential and the power of the Thais. The Company shares true stories of determination, challenges, teamwork and hard work of Thai people through multi-PR platforms and media channels combining both traditional and new media to maximise awareness. Aside from engaging with Thai youths and music talents, King Power Thai Power also works closely with local communities with aim to develop their skills and capabilities, to increase distribution channels of local products and to elevate local Thai goods to leapfrog to an international leveACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT
Qualitative results: Currently, King Power Thai Power has successfully delivered 60 artificial football pitches and 600,000 standard quality footballs to schools and communities nationwide so that Thai youth can be inspired and can practice and enjoy football at any time in their own neighbourhood. We have also delivered universal-designed public rest rooms under the project name ‘Sukha Sukjai’ in 7 provinces in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism and Sports aiming to provide the community and tourist sites with better and hygiene facilities. Proceeding with the programmes which have been carried over from last year, King Power Thai Power is committed to reach the goals previously set including the installation of 100 artificial football pitches and the delivery of 1 million footballs to schools and communities so that children and youth can use their free time productively.At the same time, King Power Thai Power will continue to listen and reach out to those in need with an aim to improve the quality of life through sport, music and community.
