INTRODUCTION

The Nova Learning Center is an academy set up in collaboration with renowned FPT Academy of FPT University. It offers mini-MBA programs for key managers and high-potential employees. It also conducts sales and general training for other employees. The mini-MBA trainees are taught modules in Strategic management, Organizational behavior, Human resources management, Leadership, Corporate finance, Project management, Quality management, Lean and innovation management, and Customer service. Each Module is taught over 4 sessions, of which 3 sessions are conducted or moderated by external business leaders and 1 session by CEO or a director of Novaland. NLC also invites world-class trainers from the renowned Dayle Carnegie Training to train in some of the modules.

The Nova Leadership Center aims to become a highly reputable training institution which meets the training needs of Novaland Group and our sister company Anova Corp. It will be extended to other businesses of the Nova Group in the future.

FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY

Novaland Chairman, the Senior Advisor to the Chairman, the CEO; the HR Chief Officer, and NLC Managing Director conceptualized this leadership development program and steered its implementation. It took about 4 months for the establishment of NLC. For the training programs of NLC, there is always a training plan made based on TNA results (Training Needs Assessment) and approved by Novaland leaders.

Other than the mini-MBA program for senior managers, NLC also provides a special training program that trains all new sales staff as well as other programs that train current sales staff, thus help boost the sale revenue thanks to a more professional sales force. NLC frequently conducts Customer Service training courses for all staff, including inviting reputable speakers from USA to Vietnam to conduct workshops.

ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT

NLC trainees rate the mini MBA and other training programs highly. The average evaluation score given by the trainees is in the range of 4.3 – 4.6 out of maximum 5 points.

The Nova Leadership Center has helped the company build a strong, well-trained and engaged workforce, which in return contributed to sustainable development and strong performance for the company. As a result the company has received a number of prestigious awards including BCI Asia Top 10 Developer Award; Asia Best Employer Brand Award; Vietnam HR Award; Vietnam Top Brands Award; and Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award.

Other than the Nova Leadership Center, Novaland also implements a structured Succession Planning Program for Hi-Pots (high potential managers) to ensure bench strength and at the same time develop qualified managers to their full potential.
