INTRODUCTION
Conch Venture's recycling business is committed to recycling and reusing waste lithium batteries in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. This initiative aims to reduce the strain on scarce resource extraction, minimize environmental pollution, and create a win-win outcome for both the economy and the environment.
FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY
In December 2022, the company invested in and constructed its first resource recycling project for waste lithium batteries in Wuhu—Anhui Haichuang Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. The core technological process extracts valuable metals from waste lithium batteries through stages such as preheating and decomposition. The company leveraged the high-temperature, low-oxygen heat source of cement kilns to reduce energy consumption and thermally decompose toxic waste gasses. This method offers advantages of safety, environmental protection, and cost efficiency.As an investment platform, the company adopts a management approach of "operating while developing" to invest in waste lithium battery recycling channels across the country. It acts as the investor, operator, and management hub for the project, pioneering innovative management approaches for the recycling and utilization of new energy materials. In alignment with its strategic development goals, the company also expands the concept of a "circular economy" and fosters industrial linkages, successfully entering the packaging container recycling industry. This has laid the foundation for the company's circular economy sector.
ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT
In terms of project layout, the company has signed 9 waste lithium battery recycling projects. Regarding technological advantages, the CKB project showcases proprietary technology that is a first in China. The implementation of this project has led to the development of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights, resulting in the acquisition of 16 patents.The use of these proprietary processes ensures that the project’s products meet excellent performance and technical standards, enabling Haichuang Recycling to achieve significant progress in green manufacturing and product innovation.
Moreover, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially released the "Fourth Batch of Enterprises Complying with the Comprehensive Utilization Standards for Waste Power Batteries of New Energy Vehicles" on its website, and Conch Venture's recycling industry was successfully listed as a "white-listed" enterprise for the comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries.
FUTURE DIRECTION
By the end of 2032, the company plans to achieve a total capacity of over 1 million tons per year for its lithium battery resource recycling projects. It aims to establish four wet extraction centers across four provinces, with a total capacity of 250,000 tons per year, aiming to become a leading enterprise in the domestic circular economy. Focusing on the projects already launched, the company will vigorously expand recycling channels and marketing networks, gradually building seven regional marketing centers and extending to county and district-level outlets.In collaboration with partners, the company will innovate and explore new business models, creating a closed-loop industrial matrix of "battery recycling, cascade utilization, resource regeneration, and raw material supply."
