FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY

Sports for Growth as an intervention relies heavily on the support of stakeholders that make and shape the Sports Ecosystem. Foremost is the role of sports coordinators at the STAIRS centres that have been adopted by Uflex. These coordinators are vested with the responsibility of keeping the children engaged in sports and alleviate dropouts. Further there are trained coaches that mentor and train the children and youths. In an endeavour to institutionalize sports activities to have a sustained impact on children, the coordinators take into consideration other important state and non-state actors like parents, principals of schools, physical training teachers at the schools, constitutional bodies like the village panchayat, state level and central sport authorities, policy makers and social workers. All stakeholders together ensure that there is no discrimination in the way of unhindered access to sports facilities for the underprivileged children and youths.

Uflex strongly believes in shared prosperity and the importance of a participatory approach for ensuring business sustainability. Sports for Growth is a carefully planned intervention to enhance the personalities of children and youths so that they remain physically fit and mentally alert and are able to contribute to the overall progress of the nation. Through Sports for Growth we endeavour to package the personalities of the not so privileged children and youths by infusing agility, confidence and self-esteem in them.

The most important and unique feature of Sports for Growth is the fact that it is a sustained endeavor to institutionalize sports for the overall development of the underprivileged children and youths of India by taking the states and non-state actors together.
