INTRODUCTION
LINKING HEARTS is an annual program led by the Youth Social Work Center, where this year’s program was sponsored and supported by Novaland. The entire program, including the planning stage, started in November 2016 and ended in January 2017. A total of 500 volunteers from Novaland as well as partner organizations joined in the activities in Dong Thap province on 2nd and 3rd December 2016.The main objective of the LINKING HEART project is to enhance the image of Novaland Group and its sister company Anova Feed as good corporate citizens. Through such projects the company pursues partnership with today’s young generation in their pursuit for better living, and at the same time promote learning among Vietnamese citizens.
This project also creates a platform for employees of Novaland to participate in meaningful CSR activities for the benefit of the community.
FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY
LINKING HEARTS is a very meaningful program as it goes beyond the typical donation of money. The program presented scholarships and bursaries; donated bicycles to students living in communes inaccessible to public transport; donated computers, books and medical supplies to schools; construction of complimentary houses and provided medical insurance to the needy; donated breeding cows to families venturing into cattle farming; built roads and street lightings and organized communal activities.Through LINKING HEARTS and other CSR initiatives, Novaland contributes to community empowerment by engaging various stakeholders, including the government, social work organizations, partners, customers, and employees.
ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT
This is the first time that Novaland supports the LINKING HEARTS project, and the company intends to do it on a long-term basis. This is part of the overall corporate social responsibility of the company, which has contributed more than US$45 million since 2013 to various philanthropy, community programs, medical and sports programs and educational and cultural activities. Aside from LINKING HEARTS, Novaland has participated and supported a total of 210 activities, partnering with 150 other organzations and benefitted 32,000 needy people in the society.“The LINKING HEARTS program have been organised for the past two seasons. This year we received strong support from Novaland Group and Anova Feed and other partners or their group. FUTURE DIRECTION
Novaland Group empowers the society by supporting the underprivileged in the society across various education, healthcare, sports, cultural and community engagement initiatives. Over the past few years the company has contributed to philanthropy, executed various CSR projects and partnered with other social work organizations to create a culture of caring, and encourage the participation and creative execution of the programs among youths through volunteering. The corporate citizenship will remain a priority in the future, as the company strongly believes in sustainable development and social empowerment.In particular, the company intends to do LINKING HEARTS project on an annual basis thereafter as it sees a strategic fit with its pursuit for corporate citizenship.
