Kevin Milla
Paia Consulting
Prior to sustainability consulting, Kevin has worked in maritime research, contributing to several publications by the Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence. His areas of focus have been in greenhouse gas emissions inventory creation and life cycle assessment. Kevin holds modelling experience to identify opportunities for GHG emissions reduction in container terminals in the Port of Singapore. His experience with performing LCAs on potential alternative maritime fuels is adaptable to many industries and sectors interested in lowering their carbon footprint.
Kevin’s current role as Paia Consulting’s consultant and carbon specialist stems from his desire to learn more about sustainability further than GHG calculations. He believes that a greater impact is made when peers and leaders attract public interest through compelling media paired with honest and accurate data. Kevin is working to make sustainable practices not just exercises required by governments to reach arbitrary goals, but also to shift how businesses are run and what companies we choose to support.
Kevin completed his master’s degree in environmental engineering where he researched waste management in East Asia. Before this, he worked with several international organisations providing consulting in community development for parts of Africa and South Asia. These were unique opportunities that allowed Kevin to work closely with NGO stakeholders and communities on location to assess development efforts (such as sanitation, financial literacy, family planning, vocational advocacy) and their effectiveness towards their organisational mission.
