Project Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

INTRODUCTION

S&P is dedicated to improving society’s quality of life. The company’s sustainable business operation is based on the principle of “Integrity” to achieve a balance of economy, society, and environment. It aims to create social value through fair business operations, to encourage local farmers to develop quality and standardized products, and to share the company’s expertise, skills, and knowledge with communities, thus, enhancing the capabilities of Thai farmers so that they will receive a better income for their well-being. Besides that, S&P has also donated its own products to help flood victims.

S&P has adhered to conducting business operations under its motto “Healthier Family, Happier World” because healthier families will be prepared to pass forward good things and share happiness with society. Sustainable business growth can be developed from the integrity of 3 dimensions.

The company has been tackling the economic dimension by sourcing raw materials from Thai farmers, this also works towards the conservation of local wisdom and the generation of income for communities. S&P maintains sustainability from the societal perspective as well, by initiating projects to transfer the company’s expertise to society and to transfer happiness to society. The environmental dimension is covered by having its employees, trading partners, and consumers be aware of environmental impacts and implanting environmental support projects to reduce potential negative impacts on the environment.

S&P aims to upgrade the potential of communities and society for sustainable and concurrent growth by passing on its potential and expertise in business operations.

FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY

The core triangle of the company’s framework and strategy covers the principle of ESG. S&P’s sustainable business growth is one of the management strategies, endorsed by the Board of Directors of the company to empower the economic, societal, and environmental impact. S&P intends to maintain good relationships between all its employees, customers, investors, and communities.

Stakeholders can be part of driving the CSR projects as there is the Sustainability Development and Corporate Communication Office to develop and initiate projects that will promote the cultivation of good consciousness in the community for the demands of stakeholders. With this ultimate goal, the company has implemented numerous social contribution projects supporting social responsibility driven by not only its employees but also its business partners. The implementation of social projects can be measured by the number of people receiving benefits from S&P’s projects, and the amount of its effective investment.

ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT

S&P implemented 4 types of social projects under commitment and strategy. First is a project to create happiness with a total budget of more than THB6 million. An example includes the “S&P Cake A Wish Make A Wish 2022” project brings a large cake for the underprivileged totaling 3,629 people. Another type of project is meant to offer S&P’s expertise to communities with a total budget of more than THB11 million. Such projects include “S&P Kitchen for Kids” which renovates kitchens clean and safe for students’ quality of life and “S&P Occupational Skills Training For Prisoners” which share career knowledge with inmates at 3 prisons.

Another social project type aim to generate income for communities the “Southern durian project” is meant to assist in the purchase of about 50 tons of durian in the south, with an estimated increase in income by about THB4.1 million the final project type focuses on the environment, in which discarded plastic bottles are brought to the recycling process and transformed into “S&P Upcycling Bag”. In 2022, S&P managed to gather 1,885 kilograms of plastic for this project.

FUTURE DIRECTION

S&P intends to participate more in society and communities by conducting fieldwork in various and alternate areas to research the initial demands of communities in terms of nutrition and sanitation and then distributing support to communities nationwide.

S&P also plans to continue the “S&P Kitchen for Kids” project, which has prioritized nutrition and good sanitation in kitchens following kitchen standards, to improve the hygienic condition of the school’s kitchen and promote sustainable agriculture for schools. In addition, the company plans to operate the “S&P Occupational Skills Training Project For Prisoners” which helps inmates to develop basic professional skills that can be attributed to a career after release.

For the environment, S&P has continuously promoted stakeholders to be aware of environmental impacts through environmental support projects that work to reduce potential negative impacts on the environment in the long term.
S&P Restaurant and Bakery shop has been stable in operation for 50 years. It is Thailand’s cake and bakery industry leader with currently 470 restaurants operating both domestically and abroad, along with full-service offerings such as food, bakery, coffee, and ready-to-eat items.
