INTRODUCTION
In order to demonstrate its dedication to carrying out the “Denting Nusantara” program, PLN Nusantara Power UP Muara Karang has developed a ground-breaking initiative to hasten the reduction of stunted growths in the Pluit Region of North Jakarta, in collaboration with the government and the local community. The goal of this program is to reduce stunting in children under the age of five, which is in line with the nation’s development acceleration strategy.The “Denting Nusantara” program is also in line with the objectives of the SDGs, specifically SDG 2: Zero Hunger. The objective of the “Denting Nusantara” program is to reduce the number of stunted toddlers in the Pluit Region of North Jakarta, through an all-encompassing CSR program. The “Denting Nusantara” program takes specific steps to improve people’s knowledge of toddlers’ nutritional needs, present early stunting detection solutions, provide high-nutrient supplementary food for stunted toddlers, and offer economic and environmental empowerment programs for families.
FRAMEWORK AND STRATEGY
In order to meet the demands of the “Denting Nusantara” initiative, one of the company’s core business strengths in the area of renewable energy was recreated on a small scale. PT PLN Nusantara Power Up Muara Karang is able to contribute to the production’s need for electricity by installing solar panels in the locations where fish bone meal is produced. A community development officer is also assigned by the company to work with the community to implement the “Denting Nusantara” initiative.It is the responsibility of the KITA community, which is made up of housewives and health professionals (nutritionists), to prepare fish bone meal, distribute them, and monitor the growth of children in the Pluit Region. The mentoring, monitoring, and program assessment responsibilities are under the purview of the corporation through the CSR officer. Together, the corporation and the community conduct monthly meetings and report-writing sessions as well as weekly controls on the “Denting Nusantara” program’s sustainability.
ACHIEVEMENT AND IMPACT
According to data from the Pluit Health Center, in 2022, 46 children have successfully recovered their health by taking part in the “Denting Nusantara” program and growing to their ideal body size. Initially, early detection was done using the Jakarta Gaul application, to ensure that the data obtained is more valid and real. There has been an increase in stunting detection by 2022, the toddlers detected to suffer from this have reached 62 children.Then, OMG (Mommy Talking about Nutrition) activities are used in monthly sessions for parents of toddlers to gain understanding and knowledge about the significance of providing children with proper nutrition. Pre- and post-tests are also used to further this learning. Then, food processed with fish bone meal is given to all toddlers on a daily basis. At least once every three months, toddler growth is assessed to determine and track the effect that results from this program.
Due to the Chief of North Jakarta’s appreciation of the program’s success, it was awarded in November 2022 at the Maritime Museum and has since become a pilot stunting management program in the city of North Jakarta.
FUTURE DIRECTION
PLN Nusantara Power UP Muara Karang will continue to be dedicated to carrying out community social programs with the utmost care. The “Denting Nusantara” program will continue to be replicated at the district or city level under the supervision of the CSR program in the future. In addition, the company will push forward with CSR programs for environmental initiatives, such as the growth of mangrove tourism forests in Jakarta’s coastal regions and the expansion of urban farming in the Kota Tua Jakarta tourism integration area.
