Mr. Murali Krishna Gannamani is the Managing Director and CEO of Fluentgrid Limited (Formerly Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd.) an IT product company based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is a visionary entrepreneur and a second generation technocrat with more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing and IT industries. He is highly passionate about technology, innovation and greener solutions. He established Phoenix IT Solutions in the year 2001 and in a span of 15 years has articulated the company as the most respected turnkey system integrator for energy, utilities and Smart Cities sector. Fluentgrid primarily caters to distribution utilities like power, gas and water leveraging smart grid technologies and is now extending its solutions to smart communities and smarter cities.

Born in Bargarh, Odisha, Mr.Murali did his schooling in the Delhi Public School and his Bachelor of Engineering in Andhra Pradesh. Being the son of a visionary entrepreneur – Late Mr.Ananda Rao who was running a steel company, Mr.Murali worked first few years as a marketing executive in the steel business but he always wanted to explore something different. Eventually he ran after his dream to do something in the technology space and started Phoenix Cybertech Pvt. Ltd. in 1998. The name was subsequently changed in May 2001 to Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd. and eventually changed to Fluentgrid Limited in December 2015. The focus right from inception was on developing software products and solutions in the Energy and Utility space, primarily catering to the Power distribution companies. The first few orders from the government utilities gave him the confidence to expand operations and reach Utilities in other countries over the years by addressing the pain points of these utilities and innovating new products to improve the efficiency of these utilities.

Fluentgrid Limited is on a mission to make a significant impact in the areas of smart grid and greener solutions for sustainable communities and is working with IBM in implementing India’s first greenfield Smart Cities project at Pallava, Lodha, Maharashtra.

Mr.Murali believed way back in 1998 that technology will be a key driver going forward in the Energy and Utilities space and stayed focussed in what he believed. He constantly updated himself with the latest technology driving the advanced markets and learned from his mistakes quickly. He predicted certain changes and started developing futuristic software products for the Utilities way back in 2001 and is in a commanding situation today to get to the next level of growth.

Mr.Murali is a beacon of light to whoever he speaks to and instantly motivates the concerned associate. He encourages employees to participate in all Sports competitions and personally involves in the field whether it is Cricket, Basket Ball or Shuttle. He is also passionate about making Visakhapatnam a cleaner, greener and preferred city to stay in.

Mr.Murali envisons Fluentgrid to be a $100 million company by 2018 and a $500 million company by 2025 and the most preferred company worldwide in the CIS, CRM and SmartGrid space. Mr. Murali spends a lot of time in identifying and mentoring the next generation of business leaders at Fluentgrid and proactively strives to engage them in conceptualizing and developing futuristic software products and solutions.

Mr. Murali’s experience in life is that patience and perseverance pays. He believes nothing can stop someone if they have the drive and the faith in themselves to succeed.

2009

  • Flagship product mPower CIS™ featured in Gartner Magic Quadrant for utility CIS systems consecutively in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and mPower MDMS™ positioned in Gartner Magic Quadrant 2014 for Utilities – Meter Data Management products thereby becoming the only Asian head quartered company to be featured in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

2015

  • Implemented along with IBM India’s first green field Smart Cities project in Pallava City for the Lodha group.

2016

  • Winning UPPCL Project for implementing cloud hosted utility billing solutions catering to 10 million consumers. Once hosted it will be the world’s single largest cloud hosted utility billing solution on SAAS business model.
